Petrified Forest

225 million years ago, this part of the USA was a tropical forest close to a warm sea. Trees died, washed down ancient rivers, got silted up, and turned into stone.

The Petrified Forest State Park allows you to walk through the tree remains. Around the trunks, thousands of small pieces of wood chips were lying around, as if some woodworker had been busy!



They look so real!



At the north end of the Forest, in 'Painted Desert', there were also ancient indian settlements, with ancient drawings on the rocks:

Jullie neef/peetneef vindt dit natuurlijk REUZE spannend en interessant!!! Maak maar heel veel foto's van die prachtige uitzichten om aan hem te laten zien! Heel veel liefs en een dikke zoen!
